Cats

Cats
Cats sleep 12 to 16 hours a day. Cats can climb up things with
their claws to stay safe from predators. Cats land on their feet
at all times perfectly fine. Cats meow for your attention.
When cats purr that means they like you. When cats expose
their stomach that means they trust you. Cats are great pets to
have at home because, they are sweet, kind and loving. I love
cats and kittens I have one at home!

Space Art

We did art with space. This is our space art. First we got a plain white paper, next we drew a semi circle. Then we drew craters and put grey colour in it and rubbed it. Then we got a blank black paper and flicked the white paint onto the black paper to make the stars. Finally we glued everything together.

Celebrating Matariki

Last Friday we celebrated Matariki in the School Hall. There was Senior Kapa Haka, Junior Kapa Haka, Ukulele group, and the Pacifica group. They did a dance played the piano and played a ukulele. The dances were great I liked the senior kapa haka group. The senior kapa haka group did nice dancing.A little while later we watched a video on the big screen. After lunch Whaea Odie came and brought us hotdogs. Some of us weren't allowed to eat hotdogs with pork and meat so we got vegetarian hotdogs.

A Trip To The Auckland Zoo

A Trip To The Auckland Zoo

Thursday was a very exciting day because room 5 visited the Auckland Zoo.
We were all separated into groups and took a look at all the animals scattered
around the Zoo. I was in May’s group, I felt really excited!

The first thing we saw was the red pandas, they were sleeping in the trees.
Next we went to go see the tigers but they weren't around so we just went to
see the next animal. Then we went to see the meerkats, they have big ears.

After looking at some animals we went back to where we were supposed to
meet. A Zookeeper at the Zoo showed us some of the animals. His name
was Hohepa, and he works at the Zoo. Hohepa took us to see the baboons.
The baboons had pink bottoms, it was really weird and a little funny.
Next we went to see the cheetahs. Cheetahs can run 100 km per hour.
It was insane and they only live up to 12 years old. They can't do cross country
because after 30 seconds they will get really tired. Then we went to see the
elephants. Elephants have big ears to hear predators from far away.
They also throw bark on their back because little bugs go on them.
Finally when Hohepa was done showing us some other kind of animals we
said goodbye and went to eat lunch.

Lastly our group went to see the giraffes, zebras, and the rhino.
Giraffes have blue tongues so they don’t get burnt and they stand when they
sleep and give birth. They sleep standing up because if they lay down it will
take too long to get back up and predators will attack them. Rhinos have 2
sharp horns the rhino looked really big.

Finally after looking at so many animals we went back to the bus I felt
EXHAUSTED I almost SLEPT in the bus. Room 5 visited the Auckland Zoo
that is AMAZING!

Trial and Error

Today we used trial and error we tried to figure the number out on this poster. Three times we got it wrong then we finally got it right! We tried 9x3=27 9+8=17 but that was wrong then we tried 7x3=21 7+8=15 that's wrong after that we tried 5x3=15 5+8=13 wrong then we tried 4x3=12 4+8=12 and we got it right.
